A Study of the Cantonese Bibles by Western Protestant Missionaries in the Late-Qing and Early-Republican Era

This project aims to investigate into the history of Cantonese Bibles during the Late-Qing and Early-Republican Era. It will focus on the motivations of translation, the social background, translators’ background, and the development of Cantonese Bibles over time.
