Project Details

Description

In this project, I aim to restudy Yi Zhoushu (《逸周書》) using the unearthed literature. These are to be supplemented by Shangshu and other ancient literature. By proofreading the excavated document, such as the bamboo slips of Tsinghua ‘Huangmen’ and the book ‘Huangmen Chapter of Yi Zhoushu’, I attempt to restore the original appearance of some ancient books and—according to the specific contents—the thought and language reflected by the articles to restudy the specific age of Yi Zhoushu. In doing so, I hope to find language, thought, culture and other standard features of the period, and then remodel the archaic Chinese used in the text. In this way, we can classify the archaic Chinese into more detailed years and complement some of the specific contents of pre-Qin history.
