Early Career Scheme is one of the earmarked research grants offer by Hong Kong Research Grant Council. It is intended to nurture junior academics and to prepare them for a career in education and research. All proposals are subject to a rigorous peer review process via the RGC's five subject panels supported by an international network of expert reviewers. The Early Career Award is an honorary title with additional amount of $100,000 for those awardees who submitted a satisfactory Education Plan. My project named "A study on Dialect Literature Movement in post-war Hong Kong" was rated full score 5.0 and received Early Career Award in 2014/15. The project is aimed at a profound study on the movement to reveal its value and meaning to modern Chinese literature and also the special influence of Hong Kong which was a colonial city that forced leftists to revise their strategies on dialect writing.
