I amAssistant Professorin theDepartment of Social Sciences at the Education University of Hong Kong. I received a bachelor’s degree fromBeijing Normal University and a Ph.D.from the University of Hong Kong.

My field of study is social foundations of education, with aparticular focus on the intersection of multicultural and citizenship education.I am the author of China’s Mongols at University: Contesting Cultural Recognition (Lexington Press, 2010), and a co-editor of Understanding Citizenship Education in China: Multiple Perspectives (Routledge, 2014). I won some competitive research grants, such as Gu Mingyuan Education Research Grant (2007); and General Research Fund (GRF) of the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2015).

Prior to joining the Education University of Hong Kong in 2008,I worked at at Beijing Normal University.
