Personal profile

I am Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Education University of Hong Kong. I received a bachelor’s degree from Beijing Normal University and a Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong.

My field of study is social foundations of education, with a particular focus on the intersection of multicultural and citizenship education. I am the author of China’s Mongols at University: Contesting Cultural Recognition (Lexington Press, 2010), and a co-editor of Understanding Citizenship Education in China: Multiple Perspectives (Routledge, 2014). I won some competitive research grants, such as Gu Mingyuan Education Research Grant (2007); and General Research Fund (GRF) of the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2015).

Prior to joining the Education University of Hong Kong in 2008, I worked at at Beijing Normal University.
