Dr. Cheng Wing Yi Rebecca joined the Institute in 2007. She obtained her doctorate in Psychology at the University of Hong Kong in 2005. Her research interest is educational psychology, specifically student achievement motivation. For years she has been working on research projects on academic self-concept, student cognition, social comparison processes in school settings, project-based learning, and cross-cultural comparison. Dr. Cheng has been teaching educational psychology and research methods in the Institute.

External Appointments

Dr. Cheng Wing Yi Rebecca is the member of the Hong Kong Psychological Society since 2004. She is the reviewer for a number of international journals including Learning and Instruction, Learning and Individual Differences, British Journal of Educational Psychology, and International Journal of Psychology. Dr. Cheng has been invited as the mentor in the Mentorship Programme in HKU SPACE Community College since2007.
