Dr. Clara Wai-chun To received her Master of Science and PhD at the Department of Sociology of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, U.S.A. She has been awarded several national (U.S.) and international dissertation fellowships for her research on women’s labor, changing intergenerational contract and transfers in contemporary rural South China. In 2017, she receives an external research grant to examine the marital experience of Mainland Chinese immigrant women in Hong Kong. Before joining the EdUHK, Dr. To had taught at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Her recent research interests include Mainland Chinese marriage migrants and cross-border families in Hong Kong.
