胡少偉博士先後獲得柏立基教育學院教師證書、香港中文大學兼讀學士(小學教育)、香港大學教育碩士(教育社會學)及北京師範大學哲學博士(比較教育)。早年任教於香港小學，現任香港教育工作者聯會副會長、香港教育大學國學中心主任(協同)、香港教研學報執行主編、香港教育行政學會學術秘書和香港初等教育研究學會義務秘書等專業職務。卅多年來曾任校董培訓班、擬任校長課程及中層人員領導培訓課程的導師；並曾發表幾十篇中文本土期刊和專書的學術文章；研究興趣包括：香港教育政策、比較教育與全球在地化發展、教師專業發展與中層人員培訓、國民教育與生命教育、及中國文化與哲學思想。
