Dr. Chan received her Doctor of Education in young children’s early writing development from The University of Hong Kong in 2013.  She is Assistant Professor of Department of Early Childhood Education and Co-director of Centre for Child and Family Science at The Education University of Hong Kong.  Her research focuses on young children’s literacy development, teaching and learning in early years.  Her first edited book on storybook reading aloud to young chidlren was published in 2001, named “六個童書朗讀的歷程” (Six Case-study of Story Reading Aloud in Chinese).  In 2006, a co-authored book was published in the area of early childhood curriculum and instruction, named “問題-探索-經驗︰走上建構學習的征途” (Questioning-Exploration-Experience [QEE] Learning: A Constructivist Curriculum Framework).  Leading a 20-school networking project on QEE Learning funded by Quality Education Fund in 2013-2015, Dr. chan published another co-authored book named "幼兒編織概念網賦權學習:「問題─探索─經驗」建構取向課程、教學與評估" (Empowering Young Children Learning by Concept Mapping: The Constructivist "Questioning-Exploration-Experience" Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment).  Dr. Chan's other current projects include "澳門幼兒教育階段小班教學現況研究" (The Study of Small Class Teaching in Early Childhood Sectors in Macau), and "從起步開始--幼稚園非華語學生學中文支援計劃" (Start from the Beginning - Chinese Supporting Scheme for Non-Chinese Speaking Students in Kindergartens).
