I am an English lecturer at the Education University of Hong Kong, Associate Editor of Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching (Scopus-indexed; Taylor & Francis), Associate Fellow of Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA), a guest lecturer at National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Managing Editor of Relay Journal, and a project manager/researcher at Research Institute for Learner Autonomy Education, Kanda University of International Studies, Japan. 

I have published articles in international refereed journals, including Assessing WritingAssessment & Evaluation in Higher EducationLanguage Assessment Quarterly, Research in Post-Compulsory Education, and TESOL Journal. Additionally, I write teaching articles for international professional journals, such as Modern English TeacherEnglish Teaching ForumThe Teacher Trainer Journal, and English Teaching Professional.

​I am currently working on two research monographs. One is with Cambridge Scholars Publishing related to students’ perception of teachers’ written feedback practice in the tertiary setting. My latest monograph, entitled 'Metacognitive Mindscapes: Understanding Secondary EFL Writing Students' Systems of knowledge', examines metacognitive knowledge systems of a group of EFL secondary students in China. This monograph is expected to be published by Routledge in 2020. I am the author of a research-based IELTS writing textbook to be published by Routledge. 

I was awarded "the ISI Reviewer of the Month" by Informing Science Institute in July 2019 (https://www.informingscience.org/Community/Overview).
