Ms. MAO Qunfan Desiree is an English lecturer at the Education University of Hong Kong. Ms. MAO has taught, designed and coordinated EAP courses at universities and Blended-learning-based ESP courses for international corporations in Asia. She has served as referee for international journals of E-learning and has presented at international conferences on English language teaching and learning on topics addressing pedagogical issues on Blended Learning.

Other than lecturing EAP and ESP courses, Ms. MAO is also a course coordinator and course developer of CLE0235 ECE English Three (Academic Writing and Storytelling).

Ms. Mao has a Master of Arts in TESOL, UK and served as Hong Kong LPATE Oral Examiner in 2018.

Before joining EDUHK, Ms. Mao has served as a Board Director of an esteemed English Training brand, playing leadership role in Blended-learning English program development for mass market and business markets as well as taking managerial role in the training, management and evaluation of Native English speaking teacher.

Research interests

Ms. MAO Qunfan Desiree is an English lecturer at the Education University of Hong Kong, HKSAR, China. Ms. MAO has taught, designed and coordinated EAP courses at universities and Blended-learning-based ESP courses for international corporations in Asia. She has served as referee for international journals of E-learning and has presented at international conferences on English language teaching and learning on topics addressing pedagogical issues on Blended Learning.

Her research interests include technology-enhanced teaching and assessments in ESL/EFL, technology-embedded English curriculum, flipped language classroom, game-based TEFL and ESL/EFL teacher training, learner autonomy and learner engagement.
