Dr. Lina P. Y. Chow completed her undergraduate PE teacher education at the Northcote College of Education and Advanced Certificate for Teacher Training at the Grantham College of Education.  She received her Bachelor and Master's degree in Education (PE) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Doctoral degree at the University of South Australia, Australia. Her Doctoral thesis investigated dance learning and teaching from a dynamic systems theory perspective in Hong Kong. Before joining Hong Kong Institute of Education (now The Education University of Hong Kong), she taught physical education for nine years in both primary and secondary schools. Dr. Chow is Assistant Professor of Department of Health and Physical Education. She teaches under- and post-graduate classes in Motor Learning, Control and Development, Motor Skill Acquisition, Fundamental Movement and Dance. Her research interests include motor learning, teaching and learning in physical education and dance, and issues relating to teacher education. Dr. Chow has substantial experience in the teaching and development of dance in the Hong Kong schools. She was also invited by Hong Kong Baptist University Hong Kong to review their DanceSport Programme in 2009 and Sports Development Board to revise (1997) and review (2006) the Motor Control and Learning syllabus for the sports-general theory component of the Hong Kong Coach Accreditation Programme (HKCAP). She is a former Hong Kong badminton player representative and has extensive experience in teaching and coaching in various competitive sports.
