Dr Patrick Yun is the Executive Co-Director of the Institute of Professional and Vocational Education and Lifelong Learning (IPVELL) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). He also serves as the Programme Leader for the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Professional and Vocational Education) and Bachelor of Education (Honours) (Professional and Vocational Education) programmes. Additionally, Dr Yun is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the Faculty Field Experience Coordinator for the Faculty of Education and Human Development at EdUHK.
Dr Yun holds a PhD in Education from Cardiff University, UK, an MBA from the University of Dundee, UK, and MA and MSc degrees in Information Systems and IT in Education from the City University of Hong Kong and The University of Hong Kong, respectively. He also holds a Bachelor of Religious Studies from the Holy Spirit Seminary College of Theology and Philosophy, Pontifical Urbaniana University, Rome. Dr Yun was awarded the Outstanding Academic Performance Award for his Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Professional and Vocational Education) studies at EdUHK and subsequently earned a scholarship for his doctoral studies at Cardiff University.
In addition to his academic qualifications, Dr Yun is a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Hong Kong Logistics Association, and the UK Chartered Institute of Bankers.
Throughout his career, Dr Yun has taught at various higher education institutions in Hong Kong and the UK. He has received several prestigious teaching awards in recognition of his commitment to excellence in teaching and educational leadership. His multidisciplinary expertise spans business management, information systems, e-learning, logistics, economics, accounting, sociology, adult education, and teacher training.
Dr Yun has also made significant contributions to international education, including strengthening higher education in Cambodia through a World Bank initiative. At EdUHK, he serves as a Field Experience Coordinator, doctoral student supervisor, and member of various university committees. He also holds a school manager position in secondary schools, serves on the Assessment Panel for the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence, and participates as an External Member for the Programme Internal Revalidation exercise of VTC.
Dr Yun actively contributes to youth leadership training and development programmes for local organisations, schools, and radio broadcasts in Hong Kong. He is the Group Scout Leader of a school scout group and also holds a Private Pilot Licence issued by the UK Civil Aviation Authority. He is actively involved in leading local scout training activities.
His research interests include learning outcomes, disadvantaged learners, e-learning and e-pedagogies, the metaverse, Web 3.0, curriculum design, professional and vocational education, leadership, and youth leadership development. He serves as a reviewer for several international academic journals, including Cogent Education, BERA The Curriculum Journal, Pedagogies: An International Journal, Education Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, International Journal of Comparative Literature and Translation Studies, Education Sciences, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and Sustainability.
甄沛豪博士現任香港教育大學(EdUHK)專業及職業教育與終身學習研究所(IPVELL)聯席執行所長。他同時擔任教育學士(榮譽)(專業及職業教育)及教育學深造文憑(專業及職業教育)課程主任、課程與教學學系高級講師,以及教育與人類發展學院的學校體驗學系統籌主任等。
甄博士擁有英國卡迪夫大學教育博士學位(PhD in Education)、英國丹地大學工商管理碩士學位(MBA),以及分別由香港城市大學和香港大學授予的資訊系統及教育科技碩士學位(MA和MSc)。此外,他亦取得宗教學學士學位,該學位由羅馬宗座傳信大學(Pontifical Urbaniana University)附屬的聖神修院神哲學院頒授。他在香港教育大學修讀教育學深造文憑(專業及職業教育)期間的取得卓越學術表現,榮獲傑出學術表現獎,並在隨後獲得獎學金赴卡迪夫大學攻讀博士學位。
除了卓越的學術背景外,甄博士還是英國特許市場營銷學會(Chartered Institute of Marketing)、香港物流協會(Hong Kong Logistics Association)以及英國特許銀行學會(Chartered Institute of Bankers)的會員。
在教學方面,甄博士曾於香港及英國多所高等教育機構任教,並因其在教學和教育領導方面追求卓越的精神,多次獲得備受推崇的教學獎項。他的專業知識涵蓋多個領域,包括商業管理、資訊系統、電子學習、物流、經濟學、會計學、社會學、成人教育及教師培訓。
甄博士積極參與國際教育發展,曾透過世界銀行的計劃大力推動柬埔寨高等教育的發展。在香港教育大學,他擔任課程及學院層面的學校體驗統籌主任、博士生導師,以及多個大學委員會的成員。此外,他亦擔任中學的校董、香港職業訓練局(VTC)課程內部覆審計劃的外部成員,以及「行政長官卓越教學獎」評審委員會的評審成員。
甄博士還熱心於青少年領袖訓練及發展,為本地多個志願機構、學校及電台節目提供顧問服務及監督。他是學校童軍隊伍的旅長(Group Scout Leader),並持有由英國民航局(Civil Aviation Authority)頒發的私人飛行駕駛執照,同時積極參與本地童軍的訓練活動。
他的研究興趣包括學習成果、弱勢學習者、電子學習及電子教學法、元宇宙(Metaverse)、Web 3.0、課程設計與實施、專業及職業教育與領導,以及青少年領袖發展與訓練。他亦是多本國際學術期刊的審稿人,包括 Cogent Education, Pedagogies: An International Journal, BERA The Curriculum Journal, Education Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, International Journal of Comparative Literature and Translation Studies, Education Sciences, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and Sustainability 等。
