Personal profile

In the Department of English Language Education within the Faculty of Humanities, my work centers on integrating emerging technologies with English language teaching and learning. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduates, pre‑service teachers, in‑service teachers, and postgraduates, alongside service as EdD Programme Coordinator for the Graduate School.

My research centers on the intersection of emerging technologies, particularly generative AI, and teacher education. I investigate how pre‑service and in‑service teachers develop the competencies needed to integrate AI tools effectively and ethically into their pedagogical practice. Through qualitative studies and intervention research, I develop and examine conceptual frameworks for pedagogic AI competence and alignment with AI‑TPACK and SAMR, especially in language education. I also design innovative professional development, such as microlearning, to build digital resilience and mitigate technostress. I am particularly interested in how GenAI can personalize learning, support the emotional dimensions of education, and transform instructional design while maintaining a critical lens on issues of bias, privacy, and academic integrity. This work contributes to preparing future‑ready educators who can navigate an evolving technological landscape while sustaining pedagogical effectiveness and professional well‑being. Moreover, I was also ranked among the top 1% of the world’s most-cited scientists in education 2024, according to lists compiled by Stanford University.
