Personal profile

Dr Jammie Lo is a Senior Lecturer at The Education University of Hong Kong and is currently the Programme Leader of Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Full-time, Early Childhood Education). She is a veteran training specialist in teacher education, especially in early childhood music education and STEAM education. Having graduated from University of Queensland with Dean's Commendation for High Achievement, Dr Lo read her Master of Arts in Music Education on competitive scholarship with Dean’s Honour List and Doctor of Education with specialization in STEAM and creative thinking at EdUHK. Jammie is a qualified kindergarten teacher, registered child care supervisor and registered child care worker.

Dr Lo is an elected fellow of Royal Society of Arts in London. With her profound knowledge in early childhood music education, Dr Lo has been appointed as a Specialist and Accreditation Panel Member by Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) to ensure the alignment of industry requirement and the academic rigour have been met by the proposed early childhood education programs by institutions.

In addition, she has been appointed as the committee member of Independent Review Committee for Residential Child Care Service in Po Leung Kuk (Hong Kong), advising government policies related to child abuse and making recommendations in enhancement measures for protecting the young. Moreover, she is appointed as the Panel of Film Censorship Advisers under the Film Censorship Ordiance (Cap.392) by Film Censorship Authority (HKSAR). Internationally, Dr Lo serves as the judge for QS Reimagine Education Awards (Oscar of Education).

Along the years, Dr Lo’s expertise in teacher training has been locally and internationally recognized. For local recognition, Dr Lo has been awarded Dean’s Award in Teaching Excellence at Hong Kong Baptist University. For international recognition, she has received National Teaching Excellence Award in the 7th China Youth Arts Festival. In addition, Dr Lo has served as invited speaker in educational and professional conferences around the globe.
