Dr. Chan is Associate Professor of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, The Education University of Hong Kong. She graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, with a Bachelor degree of Arts and a Post-graduate Diploma of Education. She got her Master Degree in Education at the Queens' University (Kingston), with specilized area in Curriculum Studies.  Then she obstained her degree of Doctor of Education at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has been Head of Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the Associate Dean (Research and Development) of the Faculty of Education and Human Development. She has been a visiting scholar in the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy of The University of British Columbia; and a participant of the iSTEP in the School of Education of Stanford University. Dr. Chan is research active in areas of curriculum reforms and innovations, curriculum policy implementation, and teachers' beliefs & professional development. She has participated in various research and teaching development projects funded by General  Research Grant (GRF), Quality Education Fund (QEF), Internal Research Grants (IRG) and Teaching Development Grants (TDG). She has been serving the community and professinal field as being member of the Council on Professional Conduct on Education, external examiner of local and overseas universities, and editorial board member / reviewer of international and local academic journals.
