Dr. Poon Kin Keung obtained his BSc (Hons) degree in Mathematical Science from the Hong Kong Baptist University, and his PhD degree in Mathematics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He also obtained a PGDE from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Poon has received numerous honors during his study and career, including a Certificate of Merit in the QEF Outstanding Project Award for Problem Solving Among Teachers and Pupils in Primary Mathematics (with C.K. Leung, Y.K. Man and Louisa Lam). He was also awarded a Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fellowship, an Elkhorn Enterprises Limited Scholarship, a Two/Ten Charity Trust Scholarship, a Hong Kong Youth Scholarship as well as received Honorable Mention in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling.
Dr. Poon is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at the Education University of Hong Kong. His research interests cover topics in problem solving in primary and secondary mathematics, technology in mathematics education, complex dynamics and discrete mathematics. He is currently an editor of the Far East Journal of Mathematical Education http://www.pphmj.com/journals/fjme.htm.
