Dr. Woo Jun-jie is an Assistant Professor and Programme Leader of the Bachelor of Social Science in Policy Science and Management [BSocScPSM(Hons)] in the Department of Asian and Policy Studies of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (FLASS) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). He received his PhD from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore and holds an MSc in International Political Economy from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University.
Prior to joining the department, Dr. Woo was an Assistant Professor and Community Research Fellow at the Public Policy & Global Affairs Programme of Nanyang Technological University. He has previously held the positions of Rajawali Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities, Singapore University of Technology and Design. He is also an Assistant Editor of Policy & Society: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Policy Research.
Dr. Woo’s research interests include policy design, education governance, technology and urban governance, and the political economy of development in Asia. His current research project takes a comparative public policy approach to understanding education governance and policy in Hong Kong, Singapore and China. He is particularly interested in the linkages between education policy, economic development and effective policy design. Aside from these, Dr. Woo is also interested in theoretical development in the areas of policy design and institutional theory.
