Dr HUANG, Jing Peter obtained his MA degree (English Studies) from National University of Singapore and PhD degree (Applied Linguistics) from University of Hong Kong. He has been working as a language teacher educator for more than 20 years in mainland China, Singapore, and Hong Kong. His research is in autonomy/identity/agency in second language education, TESOL teacher education, educational ethnography, and metacognition in language learning. He has published extensively in these areas in many CSSCI journals and in reputable international journals including System; Language Teaching Research; The Modern Language Journal; TESOL Quarterly; Language, Culture and Curriculum; Asia Pacific Journal of Education; Frontiers in Psychology; Sustainability; SAGE Open; Educational Action Research; Teaching Education; Chinese Journal of Applied Linguistics; etc. He was PI of two GRF (General Research Fund) projects during 2015-2021 (Autonomy in the transition from learner to teacher: A longitudinal multiple-case study; Identity, agency and autonomy in foreign and second language education: Case studies of in-service teachers in Shenzhen and Hong Kong).
