Ying Ji (Yumjyi) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Education Policy and Leadership (EPL) at the Education University of Hong Kong. Her disciplinary background is in International and Comparative Education, Sociology of Education, and Educational Policy Studies. She received her MPhil in Educational Research (distinction) and PhD in Education (thesis pass without correction) from the University of Cambridge and BA in English Language and Literature from Central China Normal University.
Ying Ji’s research interests include intercultural and international education, equity and inclusion, values and ethics, educational governance, teacher professional identity, teacher education, and higher education. Drawing on sociological and philosophical frameworks, she examines (1) how socio-cultural, policy, and technological transformations shape educational experiences and outcomes and (2) how educational stakeholders navigate evolving socio-cultural, policy, and technological landscapes in the contexts of teachers’ work, teacher education, and higher education.
