Professor Daniel Chow currently holds the position of Chair Professor of Health & Sports Science and serves as the Associate Dean (Research & Postgraduate Studies) within the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK).
In terms of his academic background, Professor Chow completed his BSc and MPhil degrees at The University of Hong Kong in 1985 and 1989, respectively. He further pursued his studies and attained his PhD from the Bioengineering Unit at the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom in 1993. Following this, he commenced his career at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1994 as an Assistant Professor. Over time, he was promoted to the positions of Associate Professor in 1999 and Professor in 2005.
Professor Chow has acquired expertise in the fields of human movement analysis, biomechanics, and ergonomics. Notably, he played a significant role in establishing the Sports Bioengineering Unit for the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sports Medicine and Health Sciences Centre at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University before joining EdUHK in 2013. Furthermore, he assumed the position of Head of the Department of Health & Physical Education at EdUHK from 2014 to 2017.
