Dr Keung Hiu Man specialises in modern Chinese literature and Chinese language education. She received her PhD in Chinese Studies from the University of Edinburgh, and she had received her BA, BEd, and MPhil from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Prior to joining the Education University of Hong Kong, Dr Keung conducted research as Postdoctoral Fellow at the Faculty of Education of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She had also worked as Teaching Assistant at the Programme for the Gifted and Talented, and the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of the Chinese University of Hong Kong; as well as Tutor in Chinese at the School of Literatures, Languages, and Cultures of the University of Edinburgh.
Dr Keung’s research focuses mainly on re-examining printed drama by modern Chinese women playwrights, the playreading culture in Republican China, and the literature education received by modern Chinese writers in the early twentieth century. She has experience in teaching courses in the fields of Chinese language, literature, culture, and history. She has also been involved in a number of research projects on exploring the effectiveness and acceptance of different eLearning innovations in Humanities education.
