Dr. SHANG Haifeng Aaron is an assistant professor at the Education University of Hong Kong and a visiting research fellow at the International Research Institute for Zen Buddhism at Hanazono University, Kyoto. He focuses on the Sinitic texts in East Asia, and his interest is in the intellectual history of literature and arts. He was born in Beijing and awarded a PhD. in the major of Classical Chinese Literature from Nanjing University. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy of Academia Sinica in Taipei and a Foreign Research Scholar at National Institute of Japanese Literature in Tokyo. He worked as a Teaching Fellow at the School of Chinese as a Second Language of Peking University. Prior to joining the EdUHK, he was a Senior Research Scholar at the Department of Chinese of Sun Yat-sen University in Canton.
His research interest focus on the interdisciplinary historical studies among the Literature, Art and Zen based on Sinographic Texts in East Asia in 8th-17th centuries.
