Dr. Randolph Chan is an Associate Professor and the Associate Head of the Department of Special Education and Counselling. He obtained his PhD in Psychology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research areas focus on the mental health and positive development of youth from marginalized populations with a particular emphasis on sexual and gender minorities. Specifically, his research examines how social and community factors (such as minority stress and stigma) affect wellness and diversity. His research also seeks to understand how members of marginalized groups draw on resilience resources to positively adapt within the context of social adversity.
